On the 5th, Yoo Yeon-seok calmed the hearts of disappointed fans who were sad about the cancellation of the fan meeting through an Instagram live broadcast.

He said, “You may have seen the article or announcement, but there was a fan meeting scheduled for this week. However, it had to be canceled due to circumstances with the venue,” opening up about the matter.

He continued, “It was also the 20th anniversary fan meeting, and we haven’t been able to meet for a while due to COVID-19. I was looking forward to it a lot, and I’m sorry to the fans who booked and prepared to come to the fan meeting. I promise to find a venue and hold the 20th anniversary fan meeting within this year.”

Yoo Yeon-seok was planning to hold a fan meeting at Ewha Womans University Samsung Hall in Seoul’s Seodaemun-gu on the 8th, but he had to cancel the fan meeting after a fire and evacuation of five people occurred in a building on Ewha Womans University on the 31st of last month.

On that day, Yoo Yeon-seok mentioned the false allegations of ‘disrespecting a security guard’ that were recently making headlines.

He said, “At the time the fan meeting announcement was made, there were some unexpected issues and articles that surprised me. I was looking forward to meeting the fans, but I was shocked. I believe many of you already know about this. Don’t be too upset. I won’t be shaken. I trust myself like you trust me. I am not too shaken as many of you have sent support,” he said.

When a fan sent a message saying ‘Don’t mess with Yoo Yeon-seok, the kind one,’ Yoo Yeon-seok said, “Don’t mess with me. I might get angry,” and even joked by putting his hands on his waist.

Last month, an online community post claimed that Yoo Yeon-seok had disrespected his father, who worked as a security guard, causing him to feel ashamed and quit his job. The writer also claimed that this incident was the reason for the father’s ill health.

Yoo Yeon-seok’s agency, King Kong By Starship, denied the allegations, stating that they were completely untrue. Yoo Yeon-seok’s side has also filed a lawsuit against the writer for spreading false facts and defaming his character.
