The music video for BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” has surpassed 1.6 billion views, their agency YG ENTERTAINMENT (YG) announced. YG also said, “This is the first highest and most recorded music video by a K-pop group.”
According to YG today (June 4), BLACKPINK’s music video for “DDU-DU DDU-DU” surpassed 1.6 billion views on YouTube at around 7:22 p.m. that day. This is an achievement recorded in about 2 years and 11 months since it was released on June 15, 2018!
‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ is the title track of BLACKPINK’s first mini album ‘SQUARE UP’. The song’s addictive chorus and pointing dance moves, like shooting a gun with both hands, gained popularity, and it was ranked number one as the “most viewed K-POP music video in the world” the same year.
BLACKPINK has a total of 28 videos that have surpassed more than 100 million views on YouTube. Among them, four music videos, “DDU-DU DDU-DU” (1.6 billion views), “Kill This Love” (1.3 billion views), “BOOMBAYAH” (1.1 billion views), and “AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST” (1 billion views), have surpassed 1 billion views.
