HYBE LABELS JAPAN has announced that Kyungmin, one of the five members who have gained popularity through Mnet’s “I-LAND” and had announced his debut this year, will be leaving the debut project.
On May 31, HYBE LABELS JAPAN announced through their official website, “For the ‘HYBE LABELS JAPAN Global Debut Project’, the candidate members who were selected in the ‘&AUDITION’ will also join us in Korea. They are moving forward towards their goal of debuting with the support of their mentors. In the process of discussing the future with HYBE LABELS JAPAN, the direction of their activities differed from that of the company. As a result, we have decided to end the challenge of this project. We would like to thank everyone who has supported Kyungmin and we hope that you will continue to watch over him warmly.
Prior to this, on January 1st of this year, HYBE LABELS JAPAN (then known as Big Hit Japan) made a surprise announcement that they would be starting a global project based in Japan to create artists who would be active on the world stage. The five members of the project are K, Nicholas, EJ, Taki, and Kyungmin, who appeared on Mnet’s “I-LAND,” and the new audition “&AUDITION” will determine additional members, which drew the attention of fans. New information about the project will be announced in June or later as soon as it is decided.
