Actor Lee Min-ho has ranked first for five consecutive years in the Overseas Hallyu (Korean Wave) Survey.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange recently announced the results of the “Overseas Korean Wave Survey,” which aims to confirm the usage and diffusion level of K-Culture content in major countries overseas.

In response to the question, “Who is your favorite Korean actor at the moment?” 9.1% of the 25,000 respondents mentioned Lee Min-ho , followed by Gong Yoo (2.7%), Hyun Bin (2.4%), Song Hye Kyo (2.0%), and Lee Jong Suk (1.5%).

He gained attention as a Korean wave star through KBS 2TV’s “Boys Over Flowers” and was loved by many viewers for each work he appeared in, such as SBS’s “The Heirs,” “The Legend of the Blue Sea,” “The King: Eternal Monarch,” and Apple TV+’s “Pachinko.”

The “Overseas Korean Wave Survey” targeted 25,000 adult men and women aged 15 to 59 who have experienced Korean cultural content in 26 countries around the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China, and Japan, to objectively survey national Korean wave consumption behavior trends and diffusion levels of Korean wave contents and to present future development directions.
