A performance video of Stray Kids covering BLACKPINK’s song has become a hot topic.
Stray Kids covered BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” with their own unique arrangement in the survival program “KINGDOM : LEGENDARY WAR” currently airing on Mnet in Korea. KINGDOM : LEGENDARY WAR” is a survival show where popular boy groups compete with high-level performances to reach the top, with DBSK as the MC.
The performance video of Stray Kids covering BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” was uploaded to Mnet’s official YouTube after the program aired on Thursday, May 20, and quickly gained more than 5 million views in just 18 hours. In Japan, the song ranked number one on YouTube’s fastest-rising list. The performance of “God DDU-DU DDU-DU” which added Stray Kids’ unique style to the world view of “DDU-DU DDU-DU” drew a lot of attention.
Furthermore, since the performance was based on the movie “Deadpool,” Ryan Reynolds, the lead actor of “Deadpool,” responded on Twitter.
The Stray Kids are currently in first place in the survival show “KINGDOM : LEGENDARY WAR”, beating all the other competing artists.
The final episode of “KINGDOM : LEGENDARY WAR” will be held on June 3 (Thu). Global fans’ expectations are rising as to whether they will be able to defend their throne in the final ranking.
